“The Empty Chairs” is my latest novel about a female post-mortem (the dead or soon-to-be dead) portrait photographer in Victorian London embroiled in a murder and mutilation mystery that threatens the entire city. Working together with a young Irish detective and a host of ‘mystic irregulars’, Violet Abrams must come to terms with the horror of her newfound psychic abilities as she unravels the hideous master plan of the monster that is terrorizing the night.
I've been experimenting with the look of Violet as I write this book. As always, I need to have a great collection of images and inspirational pictures to help me write. I use evolving AI technology such as Midjourney & DiscoDiffusion & NightCafe to play with the feel of my world.
I generate a lot of WIP materials to help enhance my understanding of the characters in my world. My Moodboards are full of full of locations, props, wardrobe and lighting ideas.
It's a evolving process that I enjoy sharing with my readers as well. I post samples on my social sites and get feedback often. I’m now using Behance as a way to encourage my students to also share their progress.
